Dr. Gerhard Weber

Dr. Gerhard Weber is currently a full professor at the Pedagogical University in Freiburg, Germany. He studied physics in Hannover and psychology in Braunschweig, and received his Ph.D. in psychology at the University of Braunschweig. Prior to his current position, he was an assistant professor at the University of Trier.

Dr. Weber's main interests are research in Cognitive Science (with special interests in Cognitive Psychology and Artificial Intelligence) and the development of adaptive learning systems, especially in the WWW.

The LISP-tutor ELM-ART is perhaps the most advanced intelligent tutoring system offered in the WWW. Based on the experiences with this adaptive learning system I have developed the authoring system ART-Web. ART-Web supports developing adaptive web-based learning systems. It is based on the Web-Server CL-HTTP. It supports many of the features one can find in ELM-ART.
