Arguments: stream
Returns the number of octets (8-bit bytes) in the argument stream if possible (i.e. if the stream represents a device which resembles a file).
simple-stream:
returns nil.
direct-simple-stream: returns the length of
the buffer.
string-simple-stream: returns the length of
the string.
file-simple-stream:
the file is queried for its size in octets.
