[This document is NCITS/J13 00/002. Current J13 documents are available at http://www.franz.com/~smh/J13/ .] 30-Day Meeting Notice and Draft Agenda for 12 Dec 2000 J13 Meeting (via web conferencing) ==================== NCITS/J13 will meet using web conferencing (see below) at Dec 12 2000 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM PST For safety I'm reserving 4 hours for the meeting, although I anticipate it will require substantially less. The web conferencing details will be sent well in advance of the meeting. For now, the conference will be conducted using a Lisp http server -- the only facility required of individual attendees is a regular web browser with Internet access to the normal http port 80. In other words, you won't have to worry about firewalls. In addition to the conference mechanics, agenda items (5) and (6) require some more background information and are oddly tangled. I'll email more information later in order to keep this required procedural notice brief and free of my personal interpretation. If anyone has items to add to the agenda, feel free to send them to me at your convenience. (But items received less than two weeks before the meeting are subject to the "two-week" rule which allows any member to block actions requiring a vote.) I would appreciate if members, at least the principals, would acknowledge receipt of this meeting call. Steven M. Haflich, Chair, NCITS/J13 (510)548-3600 ==================== Draft Agenda (1) Call to order and introductions. (2) Appointment of a Secretary Pro Tem. (3) Approval of draft agenda. This parliamentary item is required by NCITS procedures. (4) Approval of draft minutes from the 14 Oct, 1999 meeting. See: http://www.franz.com/~smh/J13/99-010.txt (5) Consideration of the J13 International Representative vacancy. (6) Consideration of J13 entering "Maintenance Status." SHould the Chair call a 30-day letter ballot to this effect? Is anyone likely to bring any project proposals before the committee in the forseeable future? (7) Announcements and new business. (8) Consideration and scheduling of next meeting, etc. ====================
